Jorge Burgos

Jorge Burgos (aka Ataca Jorgie) was born in Humacao, Puerto Rico. At age six, he moved to Orlando, Florida, where he grew up playing baseball.

Jorge was offered a baseball scholarship to Saint Leo Univers ity in Tampa. But life threw him a curve ball when he visited a local nightclub pulsing to New York-style Salsa in 2006.

Hooked on Salsa, Jorge began taking clases with Salsa Caliente Dance Studio. A star pupil, he started teaching Salsa just eight months later.

After graduating from Saint Leo with a Business Management degree, Jorge was forced to choose between baseball and Salsa. His passion for dance led him to make the right choice. But life had yet another curve ball waiting for Jorge; he would become most famous not as a salsero but as a bachatero.

In fact, Jorge and his partner, Tanja Kensinger (aka La Alemana), are the most popular Bachata dancers on YouTube. Of course, they also have a real job - traveling around the world teaching Bachata.

Jorge is also the co-owner and co-director of Island Touch Dance Academy, an instructor referral service and one of the top online providers for virtual dance classes. For Jorge Burgos, all tracks lead to Salsa.
