Latin Music

Latest blog posts...

Viva la musica! The foundation of Latin dance is Latin music, and if dance isn’t your thing you can still get lost in the music.

This section focuses on Latin songs and albums. The Latin Music & Dance Genres page has moved to www.sealatin.com/Genres.

People who live to dance embrace musicality, which might be loosely defined as connecting with the music. Yet most dancers connect with the rhythm and melody rather than the lyrics. Of course, Spanish and Portuguese are the standard languages for Latin music, making the lyrics largely inaccessible to people who only speak English or other non-Latin languages. Even sadder, many people in our corporate culture don’t care about deeper meanings or other cultures.

Yet there may be nothing more poweful in Latin music than la musica’s roots, one of the key elements that will be explored in this section.
